In order to study the effects of bio-organic fertilizer and microbial agent on the growth development, yield and quality of tomato, " Taoxing" tomato was selected in an experiment with four treatments: common organic fertilizer+sterilized microbial agents (CK), common organic fertilizer+microbial agent (T1), bio-organic fertilizer+sterilized microbial agent (T2), and bio-organic fertilizer+microbial agent (T3).The plant height, stem diameter and blade SPAD value of tomato were investigated at the initial stage of fruit expansion. The fruit number, yield and fruit quality of tomato in each layer were analyzed at the fruit expansion stage. The results showed that bio-organic fertilizer significantly stimulated tomato growth.Compared with CK, when no microbial agent was applied at the early stage of fruit expansion, the stem diameter of treatment T3 and T4 were more than 13 mm, and the plant heights were relatively increased. The total yield of bio-organic fertilizer+microbial agent increased by 13.6%.The soluble solids of T1, T2 and T3 treatments increased by 3.21%, 3.87% and 4.55%, the sugar acid ratio increased by 7.63%, 10.1% and 12.9%, and Vc increased by 6.27%, 7.67% and 8.10%, respectively. The combination of bio-organic fertilizer and microbial agent would significantly increase the growth, yield and quality of tomato, especially in the middle and late period of tomato fruit bearing period.
