Effects of different land use types on functional diversity of microbial communities in Mollisols

  • Effects of different land use types on diversity of microbial community function were investigated with Biolog-Eco method. The results showed that the number of bacteria, the Shannon index,Simpson index and McIntosh index, were higher with the treatment of nature restore (NR) than those with the treatment of bare land (BL) and sweet clover (SC),respectively. The utilization capacity of carbohydrates, phenolic compounds and amino acids were higher than the other carbon sources in the NR treatment. While carbohydrates, polymers and amino acids were more utilized than the other carbon sources in the SC treatment. The amino acids were utilized most than the other carbon sources with the BL treatment.Principal component analysis indicated that the microbial metabolic characteristic with the NR treatment was similar with that of the SC treatment, which was with a significant difference compared to the BL treatment.
