Development History and Current Situation Analysis on China's Sugar Beet Production

In this paper,we reviewed the development history of China's sugar beet production,divided the history into 6 different development stages and analyzed characteristics of cultivation area and average yield during these 6 different stages. Based on the analysis of current situation of sugar beet production,we clarified the change of main producing areas,cultivated varieties,improvement of cultivation practices and production strategies. In addition,current cultivation area and average yield were analysed. Through the analysis of problems in China's sugar beet production,implementation of improved varieties,adoption of mechanization,and government subsidies were proposed.
