Correlation analysis and comprehensive evaluation of seed yield and yield-related traits in oat (Avena sativa)

In order to explore the main factors affecting the seed yield of forage oats and their relative contribution rates as well as screen out forage oat varieties suitable for planting in eastern Inner Mongolia, the correlation analysis between seed yield and 6 yield-related traits, and growth characteristics of 19 oat varieties were analyzed and comprehensively evaluated by using membership function method. The results showed that the order of correlation coefficients between seed yield and yield components was as follows: seed yield per plant > grain number per plant > 1 000-grain weight> spikelet number > spike length > plant height, plant height and spikelet number was negatively correlated. Two oat varieties, Sweety and Samsung, are adaptable for planting in the eastern region of Inner Mongolia.
